11:35 a.m., Oct. 27, 2010----All members of the University of Delaware community are invited to attend an awards ceremony and reception for the 2010 recipients of the Presidential Citation for Outstanding Achievement Award, beginning at 5:30 p.m., Friday, Nov. 5, in the Roselle Center for the Arts.

The award honors UD graduates of the last 20 years who exhibit great promise in their professional careers and/or public service activities.

The 2010 recipients of the Presidential Citation for Outstanding Achievement are

-- Katherine Boehret, AS '02, who reports on personal technology topics for the Wall Street Journal;
-- Laura Byham-Gray, HS '90M, director of the master's degree program in clinical nutrition at the School of Health Related Professions in the University of Dentristry and Medicine of New Jersey;
-- Natalie Durrett Crawford, AG '00, a veterinary anatomic pathologist at Covance Laboratories Inc.;
-- Colmcille DeAscanis, EG '96, president and CEO of CDA Engineering Inc.;
-- David Elkins, BE '91, executive vice president and chief financial officer of Becton Dickinson and Company;
-- Perri Freeman, EH '93, vice president of marketing and communication for the J.P. Morgan Investment Bank; and
-- Nicholas Vrolijk, EO '88M '92Ph.D, vice president for manufacturing operations at Celgene Corporation.

For the first time since the award began, this year one recipient from each of UD's seven colleges is being recognized.

Alumna Deb Brenner, a 2008 Presidential Citation inductee and founder and CEO of Women of the Vine Cellars, will be on hand at the reception sharing information about several of the company's wines being served.
