The cocktail social (cash bar) and scholarship fundraiser features a silent and live auction, appearances by special friends and alumni, as well as fun activities and live music. All proceeds from the evening will benefit the SPPA scholarship fund.

Cost is $20 per person and $10 per student, and registration is required. Registration information, along with a complete listing of auction items and updates about the event will be posted on the school website.

Some of the items being offered for auction are one week at a Bethany Beach vacation home, artwork, a private dinner for four at a penthouse Watergate condo in Washington, D.C., Philadelphia Phillies tickets, lunch with the U.S. Sen. Tom Carper, lunch and golf for four at the DuPont Country Club, Longwood Garden tickets, Winterthur Museum tickets and restaurant gift card, Newark Symphony tickets, among other items.

Started in 1961 with a Ford Foundation grant, the School of Public Policy and Administration celebrates its 50th year, continuing a legacy that fosters responsible, effective, and socially concerned scholars and professionals.

The March 23 event is co-hosted by the United Alumni of Urban Affairs, the Urban Affairs Student Association, the Delaware Association of Public Administrators, and with the generosity of Catherine Rooney's, and is a tribute to SPPA's educational heritage and to its dedication in developing future leaders and scholars.
