The Student Multimedia Design Center in the Morris Library is designed to meet the current and future needs of the increasing number of classes which involve the creation of multimedia projects and presentations as a course requirement. The center is offering new software, services and equipment for loan during the spring semester to UD students, faculty and staff.

All of the 80 computers in the center have been updated with the latest operating systems, WIN 7 and Mac OS X Snow Leopard. New or updated software on these stations include Adobe CS5, Final Cut 7, Camtasia 7.1, Screen Flow and Toast Titanium 10.

Users are reminded that a valid UDelNet ID (UD email login) and password are needed to login to the computers in the center and that the computers should be restarted when finished.

The multimedia equipment for loan, which includes video cameras, digital still cameras, laptops and iPads, has always been a popular service. Some of the new equipment kits now ready for loan are a Pentax K-X DSLR, GoPro Hero HD sport cameras and wireless presenters.

The video editing studios have been updated with adjustable mic stands and Blu-ray burners. Two Epson Perfection Photo Scanners are also available to connect to any computer station.

New to using multimedia? Ask at the desk for one of five licenses to use Lynda.com, an online training library with short, specific videos on everything from iMovie '11 to Final Cut Pro.
