The goal of the workshop is to identify and prioritize sustainable chemistry platforms that are capable of delivering future business growth for Delaware. Four initial areas of discussion will include water purification and re-use, chemistries from renewable raw materials, bioprocesses and catalysis.

The workshop is a first step in defining specific areas in which partnerships that combine regional expertise and infrastructure can enable significant advances in sustainable chemistry and business growth in the state. In parallel, the group will identify potential funding sources to conduct the work necessary to develop these platforms.

The agenda will include refreshments and registration from 8-9 a.m., followed by an introduction to DESCA, discussion about technology platforms and presentations by thought leaders in each of the preliminary platform areas. After a short networking session, breakout groups will further develop and prioritize the initial technology areas as well as new ones identified in the workshop.

The workshop is free of charge to qualified participants with interests in sustainable technologies. Registration and information is available at the DESCA website.
