12:30 p.m., Feb. 15, 2011----From learning about science and technology to mastering musical instruments or improving sports skills, summer camps at the University of Delaware offer something for everyone in a fun-filled learning environment.

A special UD summer camp guide is being delivered on campus and additional copies will be available for pickup from the Office of Communications and Marketing in the Academy Building, Main and Academy streets.

Camp information also is available online.

4-H camps offer overnight and day camps throughout the state. In addition to traditional 4-H camps, there are special science adventure and environmental camps.

Academic camps offer participants in grades K-12 myriad activities and adventures, including attending classes while living on the UD's Newark campus and the always-popular aerospace camp for the next generation of space explorers. Other offerings focus on writing, art, engineering and the culinary arts.

Health camp features a program for children with diabetes and their siblings and friends. The camp is for children and teens, ages 4-14.

Music camps at UD offer students from pre-toddler to pre-college opportunities to develop musical skills, while engendering an appreciation for all types of music. Instruction also is provided on all types of instruments. A wide variety of musical styles are represented, including jazz and classical. Also offered are choral and middle school band camps.

Sports camps at UD for girls and boys ages 3-18 include basic and advanced sports skills training in both competitive and noncompetitive leaning situations. Sports include baseball, basketball, lacrosse, soccer, volleyball and football.
