According to Dick Sacher, associate director in IT Client Support and Services, “The goal is to provide a virtual gateway to UD's research cyberinfrastructure information -- consulting and collaboration resources, physical resources (e.g., hardware, networking), virtual resources (e.g., online training, documentation, grant preparation materials), news and announcements.”

The site offers news for UD researchers, resources to aid in the use of information technologies in research and a collaboration page that describes the support IT can give you to further your research goals.

Recent news articles describe upgrades to the campus networking infrastructure and UD's participation in the TeraGrid, a collection of very powerful supercomputers. One resource that researchers may find useful is a collection of the UD Capture materials for the UNIX training that was offered in January.

“We plan to add discussion forums to encourage your collaborative involvement with research computing matters of all sorts,” Sacher said.

A Research Computing mail list, to which you can subscribe, has been set up to provide periodic information on research computing at UD.
