4:01 p.m., Feb. 18, 2011----Dr. Robert Laskowski, president and chief executive officer of Christiana Care Health System, will speak at the Osher Lifelong Learning Institute at the University of Delaware in Wilmington on Friday, Feb. 25, at 1 p.m.

Laskowski will address quality control at Christiana Care in his talk. The lecture will take place at Arsht Hall on UD's Wilmington Campus, 2700 Pennsylvania Ave., and is free and open to the public.

Laskowski oversees administration and operation of the system, which includes two teaching hospitals (1,100 beds), a 108-bed long-term and transitional care facility, a preventive medicine institute, a home health care organization, a community-based outpatient cancer center, a nationally recognized center for heart and vascular health and a full host of hospital and community-based, health-related services. Christiana Care is the state's largest employer.

The Osher Lifelong Learning Institute is a membership organization for adults 50 and over to exchange ideas, take classes, teach, and travel together. Over 200 courses are offered each semester in such subject areas as the arts and humanities, health, computers, languages, and science.
