8:36 a.m., Feb. 15, 2011----The University of Delaware Opera Theatre will present a festive production of Die Fledermaus by Johann Strauss II on Saturdays and Sundays, Feb. 26-27 and March 5-6, in the Puglisi Orchestra Hall of the Roselle Center for the Arts on the UD campus in Newark.

The orchestra hall will be transformed into a Viennese dance hall for the event.

The music will be sung in German, with English supertitles, and the spoken dialogue will be in English.

Brian Stone, assistant professor of music, will conduct members of the UD Symphony Orchestra in a unique production from producer/director Blake Smith and designer Eddy Seger.

Tickets cost $30, which includes dessert and soft beverages.

Show times are 7 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 26; 3 p.m., Sunday, Feb. 27; 7 p.m., Saturday, March 5; and 5:30 p.m., Sunday, March 6.
