“E-portfolios at UD for Teaching, Learning and Assessment” will be held Jan. 6, 2011, from 8:30 a.m.-3:30 p.m. in Clayton Hall. A light breakfast and buffet lunch will be served.

Well known for his candid and humorous insights about the interconnections among student engagement, teaching effectiveness, technologies and assessment of student learning, Randall Bass, keynote presenter, will discuss the potential of e-portfolios as evidence-based documents that create rich portraits of impactful learning at the student, program and institutional levels.

Bass is an associate professor of English, assistant provost for teaching and learning initiatives, executive director of the Center for New Designs in Learning and Scholarship, and director of the Visible Knowledge Project at Georgetown University.

Other presenters will discuss the pedagogical approaches that enhance faculty/student engagement and increase faculty/student interaction, UD's integrative and reflective programmatic e-portfolio venue with a focus on enhancing and documenting teaching, learning and assessment and the ongoing UD institutional approach to, and support of, student learning assessment.
