9:54 a.m., Dec. 22, 2010----In a move designed to improve efficiency and provide better service to employees, the University of Delaware has selected TALX-The Work Number for automated employment verification services, which will become available to employees effective Jan. 3, 2011.

The automated employment verification service is a resource that will help those employees who are seeking to buy a home or car, establish credit or apply for a loan or who need proof of employment quickly.

The fast, secure service will enable UD employees to quickly prove employment or income via the phone or web.

Employees benefit from having control of the process because they authorize access to their information, and also get a timely response.

Each employee should have recently received a letter and wallet card with instructions on how to use this service. Additional cards and resources are available by contacting Payroll at [pr-staff@udel.edu] or 831-8677.

Previously, verification had been handled by Payroll, which at times saw a lag time in response rate because of volume.

The TALX service is used by many other colleges and universities, including Ohio State University, the University of Iowa and the University of Florida.

“The University of Delaware is pleased to have selected TALX to provide automated employment verification services,” said Jennifer (J.J.) Davis, vice president for finance and administration. “TALX will provide timely information which is up to date and available immediately.”
