Police responded to the 100 block of South Chapel Street around 2:20 a.m., Dec. 21, after an individual called 911 to report an unknown person walking down the driveway of a neighbor's residence carrying a TV and a bag. As the witness was providing information to the 911 operator, the suspect began to run away, while dropping the items he was carrying. Newark Police located Blumm on East Delaware Avenue near Newark high School, where he was taken into custody.

When Blumm was searched after his arrest, police found stolen property on his person. Officers then retraced his travel route and located a flat screen TV and the bag he was seen to be carrying. Officers canvassed the area of South Chapel Street and located six residences that had been broken into.

Blumm was charged with five counts of second degree burglary, one count of attempted burglary, five counts of criminal mischief and three counts of theft. He is being held at the Howard R. Young Correctional Institute on $17,000 cash-only bond.

According to police, there may have been other burglaries in the area. Any potential victims in the South Chapel Street area should contact (302) 366-7111 for an officer to respond.
