The storefront will open for regular business hours on Monday, May 2. Hours of operation will initially be Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. throughout the month of May.
Tentative summer hours for the creamery will be 9 a.m. - 8 p.m., Monday through Friday, and noon to 8 p.m., Saturday and Sunday, beginning Memorial Day weekend.
The UDairy Creamery currently offers 10 flavors: vanilla, orange Creamsicle, chocolate marshmallow, strawberry, peach, coffee, cookies and cream, mint chocolate chip, butter pecan and black raspberry.
The storefront will sell individual scoops and 3-gallon containers (for bulk purchases only). Also available at the storefront will be other agricultural products from the College of Agriculture and Natural Resources (CANR), including blankets made from the wool from the college’s sheep, as well as UDairy merchandise.
UDairy ice cream is also available at Russell Dining Hall on campus.
Beginning in the fall of 2011, UDairy Creamery ice cream will be available in on-campus markets. Additionally, the creamery will add pints and half gallons to their product line.
The UDairy Creamery is located on south campus in between Townsend Hall and the Fred Rust Ice Arena, immediately adjacent to a UD shuttle bus stop.
Because the creamery is an integral part of the UD dairy farm and the teaching and research programs in the College of Agriculture and Natural Resources, this location will allow students and faculty to have easy access to all of the stages of the ice cream making and distribution process, all the way from the cow to the cone.
