Study for finals

Students have options for late-night study locations

10:44 a.m., April 28, 2011--Late-night campus study locations available for use by UD students before and during spring semester final exams include Daugherty Hall, the Trabant Food Court, Multipurpose Room C in the Trabant Center, the Rodney Room in the Perkins Student Center and Morris Library and the Morris Library Commons. 

The Morris Library will remain open for study 24 hours a day, seven days a week, beginning at 8 a.m., Wednesday, May 18, until the last day of final exams, Wednesday, May 25, when the Morris Library will close at 7 p.m. However, no library services will be offered during overnight hours.

Morris Library Commons is open 24 hours a day, seven days a week, until the last day of exams, closing at 7 p.m., Wednesday, May 25. The Commons offers wired and wireless Internet access, vending machines and restrooms and is located adjacent to the Morris Library entrance.  

The electronic library of the University of Delaware Library, which is available 24/7 at www. udel.edu/library, provides access for faculty, students and staff of the University of Delaware to a rich array of online library resources, including DELCAT, electronic reserves, databases, full-text information, electronic journals and newspapers, guides to the Internet, the Institutional Repository and much more.

Daugherty Hall in the Trabant University Center will be open from:

• 7 a.m.-2 a.m., Wednesday, Thursday and Friday, May 18-20; 

• 9 a.m.-2 a.m., Saturday and Sunday, May 21 and 22; 

• 7 a.m.-2 a.m., Monday and Tuesday, May 23 and 24; and 

• 7 a.m.-10 p.m., Wednesday, May 25.

Multipurpose Room C in the Trabant University Center will be open from:

• 7 a.m.-2 a.m., Wednesday, Thursday and Friday, May 18-20; and Monday and Tuesday, May 23 and 24;

• 9 a.m.-2 a.m., Saturday and Sunday, May 21 and 22. 

Multipurpose Room C is not available as a study location on Wednesday, May 25.

Trabant Food Court will be open for study from:

• 7:30 a.m. to midnight, Wednesday and Thursday, May 18 and 19; and Monday and Tuesday, May 23 and 24;

• 7:30 a.m. to 10 p.m., Friday, May 20;

• 9 a.m. to 10 p.m., Saturday and Sunday, May 21 and 22; and

• 7:30 a.m. to 10 p.m., Wednesday, May 25.

The Rodney Room in the Perkins Student Center will be open for study from:

• 7 a.m.-11:45 p.m. on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday, May 18-20; and Monday and Tuesday, May 23 and 24; and

• 9 a.m.-11:45 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday, May 21 and 22; and

The Rodney Room is not available as a study location on Wednesday, May 25.

For an extra boost during extended hours of late-night study, the Trabant Food Court and the Morris Library Commons will offer complimentary snacks from 8-9:30 p.m. on Wednesday, May 18; Thursday, May 19; and Monday, May 23.

UD Career Services Center daytime study areas

The UD Career Services Center has announced daytime options for quiet study during finals. The center, 401 Academy St., is making available 10 interview rooms that have wi-fi access. The rooms are available from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday, from now through May 25. Call 302-831-8138 between 8 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. to reserve a room.
