Unsung Hero

The One Love Foundation has announced that University of Delaware men's lacrosse standout Elijah Conte has been selected as a winner of the 2016 YRL Unsung Hero Award.

The team’s president, Krista Brockway, described the squad and how it was able to reach the podium’s top spot.

“It has been nine years since the team has been able to claim the title of national champions and it is no surprise that we were finally able to do it now, with this team,” Brockway said. “This group of skaters is the most dedicated, motivated, talented, and selfless group of skaters I have ever seen. Not only did each skater train tirelessly to make themselves better, but they were always there to support each other, which made the team better as a whole. It is that combination that made this long-awaited win possible.”

The UD Collegiate Figure Skating Team also won the two competitions earlier this season that qualified it for the Intercollegiate National Championships.
