1:58 p.m., Sept. 1, 2009----Burger Studio, a new dining option in the Trabant University Center Food Court, enables diners to exercise their creativity and create a one-of-a-kind masterpiece on a bun.
Debuting at the end of August, Burger Studio offers a customizable burger with a variety of topping options. Diners can start with an angus, turkey or veggie burger and accessorize it with the toppings, sauces and the cheese of their choice. All burgers are freshly prepared to order.
Diners design their burgers at new touch-screen ordering kiosks, which show graphic representations of the creations as toppings are chosen. Sustainable packaging keeps Burger Studio environmentally friendly.
The new grill program was developed by students, for students. During the development of the brand, students from across the country identified their desire for a customizable burger. During the spring 2008 semester, UD students participated in a focus group that included a menu tasting to help determine Burger Studio's menu options.
A national online naming contest was held to determine the name, with more than 600 students suggesting nearly 1,200 names, from which Burger Studio was selected.
