The Hens got a first-half goal from Amanda McCardell and flawless goalkeeping by Noelle Diana, who had a career-high 12 saves.

The Hens, who are 14-5 and ranked No. 16 in the nation, will find out their first round opponent during the NCAA selection show on Tuesday night, Nov. 10, at 8 p.m. The show will be broadcast live on the NCAA Web site. The NCAA tournament will begin Saturday, Nov. 14.

“Defense wins championships, and that's what we did,” said UD Head Coach Carol Miller. “But we also had a strong attack and that allowed us to play strong defense. We were able to deny their top offensive players, and that was a big key today. We thought that if we could handle them offensively, we could win this game, and that's what we did.”

The CAA championship is the second for the Hens, who last won the title in 2004.
