3:36 p.m., Nov. 24, 2009----The Newark Police Department has announced the arrest of Jack (A.J.) Warrington, 27, of Rothwell Road in Wilmington, Del., in the robbery of a University of Delaware student on Prospect Avenue that occurred on Wednesday, Nov. 18, around 2:35 a.m.

Police said Warrington was charged with robbery in the first degree, possession of a deadly weapon during the commission of a felony, and possession of a deadly weapon by a person prohibited.

Warrington was arrested on Friday, Nov. 20, at the Young Correctional Facility, where he was being held on other charges. He remains in the custody of the Department of Corrections.

A photo of the vehicle that is believed to have been used during the robbery is at right. The car is a 1994 Honda Accord, dark in color, with a rusted hood of a lighter color. Anyone who saw the car in the area of Prospect Avenue during the early morning hours of Nov. 18 is asked to contact Newark Police Det.
