9:52 a.m., May 3, 2010----Laura A. Brown, a records analyst and coordinator in the University of Delaware's Office of Residence Life, has been named the Human Resources Liaison of the Quarter for the first quarter of 2010, recognition given to exemplary members of UD's HR team.
“I was really excited when I received the call saying I won the HR Liaison of the Quarter Award,” Brown said. “I appreciate receiving the award because there are so many other HR liaisons who deserve to receive the award, as well.”
Brown said she is “responsible for processing payroll for approximately 235 resident assistants and hall directors, maintaining attendance records for 19 professionals and salaried staff, and also for monitoring Residence Life budgets. In addition to that, I process Job Employee Data forms to transfer Residence Life's current and former employees to other departments.”
Brown works with Nancy Allinger, an administrative assistant with IT-Client Support and Services at UD, who was one of those recommending her for the award.
“I know that she very busy and has many HR related issues to deal with at crunch time during the year however she is always a pleasure to work with,” Allinger wrote. “She is concise when providing data for JEDs, transfers and rehires, and takes the time to thoughtfully answer questions or discuss how to handle situations that arise; grace under pressure.”
In addition, Brown has completed 31 years of service with the University of Delaware, and has won the award before, being named HR Liaison of the Quarter in April 2007.
