Previously, Bottorff had served as assistant provost for administration and planning. Her position has been reclassified and significantly expanded to include responsibility for policy, planning, development and implementation of an array of student enrollment services for both prospective and enrolled students.

As associate provost for administration and enrollment services, Bottorff will continue to oversee the fiscal management of the Office of the Provost, including short-term and long-term budgetary and academic planning, Apple said.

Additionally, she will be responsible for the offices of Admissions and the Registrar, providing strategic leadership, coordination and administrative oversight to those units.

Related to these changes, Lou Hirsh will continue in his role as director of admissions, and Jeff Palmer, currently interim registrar, will be appointed registrar effective July 1.

“The offices of Admissions and the Registrar are essential to the University of Delaware, and both have performed admirably under Lou and Jeff,” Apple said, adding, “I have great confidence in Peggy's leadership of these units as the University continues to move forward on the Path to Prominence.”

“I look forward to working with the teams in both Admissions and the Registrar's office to build upon the excellence they are currently achieving,” Bottorff said. “Both offices are doing very exciting work of great import for the University.”
