Newark Police investigate armed robbery at Dunkin Donuts

9:20 a.m., Jan. 20, 2010----Newark Police are investigating an armed robbery that occurred around 12:05 a.m., Monday, Jan. 18, at the Dunkin Donuts at 1142 Elkton Rd., Newark, near the Maryland state line.

A man entered the store, displayed a handgun and demanded money from the store employee, who surrendered money from the cash register. The suspect also took money from the tip jar and the employee's wallet. He ran from the store and was last seen crossing Elkton Road.

The employee was not injured. There were no customers inside at the time of the incident.

The suspect is described as 20 to 30years of age, about 5 feet 10 inches to 6 feet tall. He was wearing a mask, a black hoodie, jeans and black and white sneakers.

The Dunkin Donuts was also robbed on Jan. 5.
