2:49 p.m., Jan. 6, 2010----Newark Police are investigating an armed robbery that occurred around 7:50 p.m., Tuesday, Jan. 5, at the Dunkin Donuts at 1142 Elkton Rd., Newark.

A man entered the store, displayed a short rifle or shotgun and demanded money from the employee, who surrendered cash from the cash register as well as money from his wallet. The suspect took the cash and ran from the store.

The employee, a 55-year-old man, was not injured. There were no customers in the store at the time of the incident.

The suspect is described as a 20- to 30-year-old man, about 5 feet 8 inches tall, weighing 170 to 200 pounds. He wore dark jeans, a black jacket and a baseball camp with the word “Sox” on it.
