1:43 p.m., Feb. 9, 2010----Following are questions and answers concerning the new seven-year contract between the University of Delaware and PNC Bank, N.A., for the provision of personal banking services to the campus community.
Who provides personal banking services on campus?
UD has signed a new seven-year contract with PNC Bank, N.A. to provide personal banking services on campus. The contract will begin June 15, 2010. WSFS will continue to provide banking services on campus until that date.
Will PNC maintain a banking services center on campus?
Yes. PNC will provide a new electronic financial service center in the Trabant University Center, renovating the space that currently houses the WSFS branch. The PNC center will feature an on-site customer service representatives and three advanced function ATMs.
How many ATMs will PNC provide on the Newark campus?
In addition to the three advanced-function ATMs at the Trabant University Center, there will be nine other on-campus PNC ATMs.
What are some of the services offered, particularly to students?
PNC will place an emphasis on money management and financial responsibility. Personal banking products and services include the Virtual Wallet Student, an online banking solution specially designed to help college students help themselves with money management.
How will students know how much money is in their account?
Students will be able to check account balances online, via text message, and at ATM machines. Students will also benefit from PNC AutoAlerts via email and/or text message to help monitor spending and account balances.
Can I go online for PNC services?
Customized Web sites, hosted by PNC, will be available for students and employees to complete account applications, manage finances and find financial and educational information.
Do other universities work with PNC?
PNC has relationships with more than 100 schools across a 14-state region.
As a student or member of the faculty or staff, if I already bank with WSFS or another institution, do I have to switch to PNC?
No, you may continue to bank with the institution of your choice, however the Trabant University Center financial services center and campus ATMs will be PNC. PNC will be offering free ATM transactions for the first year in the Trabant Center ATMs.
Can I link my University identification card to my PNC accounts?
Students, faculty and staff will be able to link the newly redesigned University of Delaware i-card to PNC accounts, adding ATM and purchasing functionality to the card used for daily campus-related purposes, such as entering residence halls, checking out library books and accessing meal plans.
What is the University of Delaware i-card?
The name i-card is short for identification card or information card. The UD i-card offers individual card holders a single “key” to access numerous services and conveniences for the University community.
Where can I get a new University of Delaware i-card?
The University of Delaware i-card office is at the Student Services Center, 30 Lovett Ave., in Newark.
What will happen to my current University of Delaware identification card?
You can continue to use your current card. Over time the newly redesigned card will replace the current UD1 identification card as new students enroll and new faculty and staff are hired, and as aged or lost cards are replaced.
