9:45 a.m., Feb. 23, 2010----The world-famous Harlem Globetrotters will bring their 2010 “Magical Memories” world tour to UD's Bob Carpenter Center on Monday, March 15.
Coming off the most successful year in the franchise's illustrious history, with a record-breaking 62 box offices records and more than 2 million smiling fans, the Harlem Globetrotters are known for its wholesome family entertainment that provides thrills for young and old fans alike.
Now in its 84th consecutive season of touring the world, the Globetrotters' high-flying show features such extraordinary athletes and entertainers as Big Easy Lofton and Flight Time Lang, who starred this year in the CBS reality hit, The Amazing Race; Special K Daley; dribbling magician Scooter Christensen; and ball handling wizards Handles Franklin and Ant Atkinson.
In a March 2009 article, Sports Illustrated praised the Globetrotters as “the sports equivalent of comfort food.”
Sponsored by Campbell Soup Co., Spalding, and America's Best Contacts and Eyeglasses, the Harlem Globetrotters will take the court at 7 p.m., March 15, at The Bob. Tickets start at $20 and are available at UD box offices and online at Ticketmaster, where a convenience charge may apply. Individual ticket information can also be found on the Harlem Globetrotters' official Web site, along with information on group and scout tickets.
The Globetrotters will perform nearly 270 shows in more than 200 cities in 44 states, the District of Columbia, five Canadian provinces and Puerto Rico through the first week of May 2010.
The Original Harlem Globetrotters have played in 120 countries on six continents, entertaining more than 130 million fans and crossing barriers between cultures, societies and people from all walks of life. The Globetrotters team is one of only six to be inducted into the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame.
