10:09 a.m., Dec. 3, 2009----Anthony F. Gaudy Jr., 84, who was H. Rodney Sharp Professor Emeritus of Civil Engineering at the University of Delaware, died Nov. 17 at Oak Hill Hospital in Brooksville, Fla.
He retired from UD's Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering in 1988.
Born in Jamaica, N.Y., he was a World War II Army/Air Force veteran.
Before coming to Delaware, he also taught at the University of Illinois and Oklahoma State University.
He is survived by his wife, Elizabeth Gaudy, of Brooksville; sister, Catherine Roberts of Long Island; and nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews.
Donations in his memory may be made to the American Heart Association.
