8:24 a.m., April 30, 2010----The Delaware Family to Family Health Information Center will present a workshop about the creation of a care notebook -- an efficient record-keeping tool for families of children with special healthcare needs -- at the University of Delaware's Center for Disabilities Studies, 461 Wyoming Rd., Newark.

Participants can choose from one of two sessions, the first from 10 a.m. to noon, Thursday, May 27, and the second from 6-8 p.m., Tuesday, June 8. Both will meet in Room 132A of the Center for Disabilities Studies.

Workshop participants will learn how to organize years of medical reports, therapy evaluations, hospitalizations, IEPs, and more. The care notebook will help parents access information quickly and efficiently when it is needed.

Delaware Family to Family Health Information Center is part of the Health and Wellness unit at the Center for Disabilities Studies. It provides information to families new to the world of children and youth with disabilities and special health care needs.

The information center is operated and staffed by and for families in Delaware through funding from the Maternal and Child Health Bureau of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services.
