Burns and Probst were selected and appointed to the board of directors by the USOC Nominating and Governance Committee, which is chaired by Jair Lynch. "The committee had an outstanding pool of candidates to consider, and we thank all those who expressed an interest in serving and supporting the United States Olympic Committee," Lynch said. "The USOC is facing an unprecedented range of opportunities and challenges, and it is with the leadership of individuals such as Ursula and Larry, along with their colleagues on the board of directors, the management team and our member organizations, that the USOC will chart a course for continued growth and success."

"We are extremely fortunate to welcome to the USOC board of directors two highly respected leaders from international business who care deeply about the Olympic Movement," Ueberroth added. "That the U.S. Olympic Committee is able to attract to its board of directors individuals with the vision and record of success that Ursula and Larry possess underscores the importance of the Olympic Movement to our country.”

Burns is the president of Xerox Corporation, where she is responsible for the company's global research, development, engineering, marketing and manufacturing of Xerox technology, supplies and related services. She also oversees for the corporation global accounts, information management, corporate strategy, human resources and ethics, and marketing operations.

Probst is chairman of the board of directors at Electronic Arts (EA), the world's leading developer and publisher of interactive entertainment. He joined EA in 1984 and served as the vice president of sales until 1986, followed by four years as senior vice president of the company's publishing division.

"I am delighted and honored to be selected to the board of directors of the United States Olympic Committee," Probst said. "I look forward to working closely with my colleagues on the board and with the USOC team to continue to develop and enhance the Olympic Movement."
