Christiana Care Health Systems, Nemours, Thomas Jefferson University and the University of Delaware are the founding members of the alliance. Healthcare education is a top alliance priority, and a key component of this initiative will be the development of a Campus for Healthcare Education in Delaware. The campus will house classrooms, study halls and a new residential facility for medical, pharmacy, nursing, occupational and physical therapy students working through clinical rotations.

Other alliance objectives include:

cooperative programs in cancer biology,

  • a new rehabilitation institute,
  • a new cardiovascular research institute,
  • more research focusing on “bench to bedside” medicine and
  • efforts that create hundreds of health sciences jobs in Delaware.
