Bunting held the training sessions for five days in the General Department of Forensic Sciences and Criminology at Dubai Police headquarters, located in a secure compound. The program started with an assessment of the training needs and immediately tailoring a program to meet those needs.

The computer forensics team is responsible for all the computer forensics examinations for the Dubai Police, which has about 20,000 officers. The Dubai Police computer forensics laboratory is the only such facility in the region and serves the entire United Arab Emirates, Bunting said.

Bunting routinely conducts computer forensics examinations for the University of Delaware Police as well as other internal matters.

He regularly conducts examinations in high profile investigations for external agencies, including New Castle County Police Department, Delaware State Police, the Delaware attorney general's office, Newark Police Department, Wilmington Police Department and some Maryland law enforcement agencies.

“It was clearly an honor to have been asked to train a country's entire computer forensics team,” Bunting said. “Just as importantly, however, was the new relationships forged by this visit. The visit served to erase stereotypes on both sides and left in their place long-lasting friendships.”

Bunting is the author of EnCase Computer Forensics: The Official EnCE: EnCase Certified Examiner Study Guide and coauthor of Mastering Windows Network Forensics and Investigation.

Bunting teaches computer forensics at Goldey Beacom College, offers independent study lessons and gives talks on the subject.
