with Security Cart and Wireless Computers

Faculty who wish to use the equipment in these classrooms must receive
authorization from Dr. George
Watson.
Computer Security
Cart
In both classrooms, 16 laptop computers are secured
within a "Datamation Notebook Security Cart." A closed cart is
shown in the following photograph:

Distribution
After authorization by Dr. Watson, contact
Jason Atkinson (010 East Hall, 831-3546) in
University Media Services (UMS) to sign out a key for the semester.
Distributing
Computers for Classroom Use
- Unlock the padlock on the front of the cart (see first
photograph).
Important: If you notice that any of the 16
computers is missing, please report the problem immediately using the form for reporting problems.
- On the left door of the cart, turn the upper and lower round black
handles to unlatch them (no key required).
- Unplug each compuer from its external power supply.
- Distribute computers.

Collecting
Computers after Classroom Use
- Collect all computers distributed.
- Collect all external power supplies distributed.
- Carefully slide each computer onto a shelf in the security
cart--making sure that the wireless networking card is facing toward
you.
- Plug each computer into the power supply inside the cart.
- Plug each computer into its external power supply.
- Before locking cart, make sure that all 16 computers and power
supplies are accounted for.
- Close the cart doors, turn the upper and lower round black handles to
latch them, and lock the cart with the padlock.

Important Note
We suggest that you secure the cart before dismissing the
class.
