McAfee Anti-Virus Software:
How to check the log file for viruses caught

By looking in VirusScan's log files, you can see what viruses and other malware McAfee's software has caught.

Version 8.x

  1. Right-click the Vshield icon (bottom right task bar) and click VirusScan console.

  2. To view the log from scanning all disks, right-click Full Scan , then left-click View Log. The report will show the dates of previous scans and if any infected items were found.

  3. To view the on-access scanner log, right-click On-Access Scan, then left-click View Log. The report will show all files immediately accessed on system start up and any infected files detected during the course of the day.
