NAG Fortran Library

The NAG Fortran Library, mark 14, is installed on Strauss (but not Copland). It consists of on-line documentation, libraries, and examples for Fortran programmers. The package was designed to assist programmers writing mathematical and statistical software. A program using NAG could be as short as the example programs, or a large program with many options and subroutines. All the examples are Fortran programs which read a data input file make a NAG function call and then report the results.

The following documentation describes how to access NAG on Strauss, the central UNIX compute servers at the University of Delaware. In addition, it describes how you might configure your UNIX account to create a more productive work environment when programming with NAG. You are not required to follow these ease-of-use suggestions. However, they are strongly recommended because they minimize the typing needed to use NAG's features. In addition, this documentation generally assumes that you have made the suggested configuration changes.
