Copy & Paste on UNIX

First, select the text to be copied with the left mouse button

If you are using an SSH terminal window:

Press the Control key and Insert key simultaneously CtlKeyInsertKey to copy the text. Paste it with ShiftKeyInsertKey

If you are using an xterm:

Select it with the left mouse button, and paste it with the middle mouse button (wheel or press left and right button simultaneously).
