Other Useful Commands

Pressing PF1 will display a list of all XC commands. You can obtain additional information on each command by moving to the XC command line and typing
          help
or
          help commandname
and pressing the ENTER or RETURN key. The most commonly used commands are organized below by category.

Changing defaults, creating macros and commands:
      cmdline       curline       equal       macro       map
      number       query       set       synonym
Searching through a file:
      all       arbchar       bottom       case       clocate
      exclude       find       findup       nfind       nfindup
      top       type
Modifying a file:
      add       alter       cdelete       duplicate       lowercase
      overlay       prefixes       range       recover       schange
      scope       shift       sort       tabs       uppercase
Input and output:
      fmode       fname       ftype       get       put
Editing more than one file or one view of a file at the same time:
      screen
Hexadecimal representation of the file:
      hex       hextype

To execute any of the above commands automatically each time you use XC, you can copy the system default file with the UNIX command

          cp ~consult/proto/prefix.xedit .
(Note the period at the end of the command). Edit your "profile.xedit" file to add any or change your default commands.
