Job Title: Smith I/O Computing Site Assistant

JOB DESCRIPTION and SPECIAL SKILLS

Students work in the Smith I/O Services area and job duties include: assisting users with computer related problems/questions, managing a variety of printers, monitoring on-line queues, performing basic printer maintenance, and processing input/output jobs. Students are responsible for hardware and site security. All students are required to have good communication and organizational skills and to be responsible individuals. Experience with the following software applications is required:

PC - MS Office products for Win95/98 (Word, Access, Excel, PowerPoint)

Macintosh - Word, Excel, PowerPoint

Unix - Pine, RN, FTP

Knowledge of microcomputers hardware and networks is a plus.

Students are responsible for hardware and site security. All students are required to have good communication and organizational skills and to be responsible individuals. Experience with the following software applications is required:

Macintosh - Word, Excel, PowerPoint

Unix - Pine, RN, FTP

Internet - Netscape

JOB TITLE Technology Solutions Center Student Consultant

AVERAGE HOURS/WEEK 10-15

JOB DESCRIPITON and SPECIAL SKILLS

Student consultants work in the Technology Solutions Center assisting with computer-related problems/questions. Consultants provide students, faculty and staff with pre-purchase information on all supported hardware and software. Student consultants specifically provide help with PPP/Ethernet connectivity. All student consultants are required to have good communication and problem solving skills, be responsible individuals, and have the ability to learn on the job. In addition, students need two semesters of computing experience on Campus, familiarity with several software packages and the campus network and extensive experience with Windows and Macintosh operating systems and hardware.
