Information Technologies will retain course materials for five years without use at which time retention will be reviewed with the author. Course materials can be retrieved according to the following schedule.

Four weeks into the spring and fall semesters, instructor and student access to MyCourses from the previous two terms will be deactivated and courses will be placed in short-term storage. Faculty using MyCourses from those terms will be notified via e-mail several weeks prior to the removal and can request that immediate access to certain courses be retained until the next semester. After the placement of those courses in short-term storage, faculty wishing to retrieve MyCourses from either of the previous two semesters in the short-term storage can submit a request via e-mail to webct-info@udel.edu. Please allow three days for a course stored in short-term storage to be restored.

Starting Spring 2002, each fall and spring, courses for the previous year will be moved to long-term storage. Faculty wishing to retrieve one of MyCourses that are more than one year old must allow two weeks after submitting a request via e-mail to webct-info@udel.edu.

If faculty choose to keep earlier courses active, they control whether former students can still have access. Faculty can request that new courses be created based on course material from previous semesters, allowing three days for a course in short-term storage and two weeks for a course in long-term storage.

In the chart below, each column shows which MyCourses are currently available or in storage for any given term. For example, in Fall 2005, MyCourses from Fall 2003 to Summer 2004 will be archived in long-term storage ( × ). By looking in the same column (Fall 2005), you will see that courses from Fall 2004 to Summer 2005 ( × × ) will be kept in short-term storage, and Fall 2005 and future courses ( × × × ) will be currently available.
