You may need up to 75 MB of free disk space to install the McAfee
software.
McAfee software works on most recent Windows systems. However, your system
must have at least an Intel Pentium processor (or a
"work-alike" like an Intel Celeron or AMD Athlon) and
must have at least 16MB of memory.
This installer completely configures and customizes McAfee VirusScan for
use at the University of Delaware. If your computer is on campus and
connected to the campus network, your copy of McAfee's
software will check for updates and upgrades while your computer is starting
up.
McAfee issues updates to the software every week. On-campus systems will
automatically receive these updates. In order to keep their
anti-virus software current, off-campus users will need to follow
the extra set of instructions at the end of this document.
If any new malicious viruses come out between updates, an extra.dat will
be available from the Help Center's web site. You may either go to
the Help Center's main page (http://www.udel.edu/help/),
or go directly to the McAfee pages: (http://www.udel.edu/topics/virus/mcafee/).
You
will need to download any such extra.dat files and place
them in your computer's ViruScan directory.
