Install Oracle

IMPORTANT NOTE! If you currently have Oracle 8 or 9 installed, DO NOT install Oracle again. Before installing, please verify that you do not have Oracle installed. If you are unsure, contact your CITA or the Help Desk at x6000 to help you identify if Oracle is installed or not.
  1. Click the following link to download Oracle 9 and save it to your desktop.

    2. (Alternate Mirror: Click the following link for a second mirror download site Oracle 9 Site 2 and save it to your desktop.)

  2. Click the Minimize button in the Netscape Communicator window to minimize the window.

  3. You should see an icon on the desktop of your computer that looks like the following:

    NOTE: Make sure you do not run any other programs during the installation.

  4. Double-click the icon to run the program.

  5. A dialog box that looks similar to the following will appear:

  6. The oracle installer will then automatically begin. It may take a few minutes before you see the oracle installer screen, so please be patient.

  7. After the installer completes, the Oracle installer screen will disappear. You will need to reboot your machine.
