Exceed 10 for UD Students

If you are an undergraduate or graduate student, you may obtain a 1-year license for the Student Edition of Exceed from Hummingbird Communications, Ltd. The Student Edition is identical to the regular version of Exceed, except that its use is limited to one academic year. The software automatically expires and becomes unusable on August 31st following the academic year for which it was purchased (i.e. if you buy a copy of Exceed in September, 2004 it will be usable until August 31, 2005). The current price is $50 per copy. When it expires, you may re-license it for another year and get the newest version as well.

NOTE: If you purchased the Student Edition of Exceed for the 2003-2004 academic year, it will have expired as of August 31st, 2004. You must purchase a copy of the 2004-2005 Student Edition and re-install the software according to the instructions below.

You must purchase Exceed online.

Note: you will receive an e-mail confirmation once your transaction is completed. Be sure to save this e-mail! It will serve as your proof of purchase.

Once you have purchased the software, you will be given the opportunity to download it from the download site. The file is over 50 megabytes, and will take several hours to download via a modem. You may also bring your blank CD-R to the RDMS computer lab in 002C Smith Hall (in the back of the main computing site, to the right of the TSC) to download the installer. If you already paid for it, be sure to bring your temporary password that you were given on the purchase site.

Once you have obtained the CD or downloaded the software, refer to the Exceed installation instructions.
