This is a small set of supplemental files that are not installed when running the custom UD installer. They are included on the CD, and can be installed from there by choosing "UD customized files" and then "UD custom files 2" from the installer menu, or you can download the self-extracting archive here.

The files need to be copied to your Exceed user directory. The archives are set to unzip the files into the default path for the corresponding operating system, but will allow you to change the path before unzipping.

NOTE: The files are the same for all versions of Windows; the archives differ only in the path to which they extract the files. The default path for the Exceed 7.0 user directory depends on the operating system version:

On Windows 9x/ME machines:
    C:\WINDOWS\Application Data\Hummingbird\Connectivity\7.00\Exceed

On Windows 2000 machines:
    C:\Documents and Settings\All Users.WINNT\Application  Data\Hummingbird\Connectivity\7.00\Exceed

On Windows NT 4.0 machines:
    C:\WINNT\Profiles\All Users\Application Data\Hummingbird\Connectivity\7.00\Exceed

The user directory path may be changed at installation, so you may have to hunt for it and change the extraction path in the self-extractor appropriately. On Windows NT or 2000 machines, you will probably need to be logged in with administrative rights, unless Exceed was installed for a single user.

The files extracted by the self-extractor are named:

localunix.ses
localunix.xs
passive.cfg
setupunix.ses
setupunix.xs

There should not be prior versions of these files in the Exceed user directory, unless you upgraded from a previous version or already ran the self-extractor once.
