These two had the greatest impact on the University:
University Benefits Cost Containment Committee (1989-1996). During a time of high medical cost inflation, I was the AAUP representative to the University Committee.
University Committee on Pension Alternatives (1985-1989). During this time the University selected an alternative to TIAA/CREF. The committee dealt with outside counsel, state representatives, the three unions on campus, evaluated the requests for proposal, and made a final recommendation. Ultimately, Fidelity Investments was chosen.

I changed their manual
accounting system to a computerized one.
AAUP Collective Bargaining Team, 1988 and 1990. This includes a difficult
session
in 1988 when
the administration wanted the faculty to absorb all
increases in
health care costs.
AAUP Scholarship Committee, 1997-2001 (chairman, 2000-2001). A
$1,500
award is
given to the most promising student who plans in a career in
university
teaching.
