Task

Throughout time, the world population has been increasing and has lead to urban planning issues. Over the past 50 years, some cities have grown while others have remained the same size. By using a spreadsheet, you can look at and manipulate data. Download the linked spreadsheet.

After looking over the data, try to decide what story you can tell with the data. What would make a good comparison? How should you manipulate the numbers? How should the information be sorted? What graph or chart should you create to tell your story?

Prepare your spreadsheet, charts and graphs to present your information to the class in Excel. For more of a challenge, try manipulating the numbers and creating them in Excel and then use Word to create a printed report or PowerPoint to create a slide show.
