Goals
  • Create a lab-based project for each team or area or grade. We would like Joyce and Craig to be available for technical support during these lessons (we will split the development portion up by grade)
  • Develop an action plan based on the needs assessment (both)
  • Develop policies and procedures for the mobile labs (both)
  • To set all laptops to read both WiFi base stations (both)

What did you do this month?
  • Instructed the use of interactive physics web site for science experiments.
  • Discussed ITLT with Ellyn Budney and helped bring her on board for next year.
  • Facilitated the use of mobile lab in 8th grade classroom.
  • Tech fair
  • Started a video project with one team (6videos)
  • Worked on some animation programs
  • Started working with storyboard software
  • Continued with web page updates
  • The studio is now using a green screen for weather
  • Filmed more sports for the studio
  • Taught some more editing in iMovie

What do you have planned for next month?

  • Assist teachers in “cleaning up” their Desktops before the end of the year.
  • Finish the video project
  • Discover the many uses for a tablet PC
  • Need to train next years groups in the studio
  • Need to write job descriptions for the studio

What help do you need?

  • I would like to find out what direction the HS studio is going (PC/Mac) and what software they will be using to edit video

  • Assisted teachers with basic folder creation and organization.
  • Helped Computer Education teacher with numerous projection unit problems.
  • Took pictures of 8th grade activities for end-of-year slide show.
  • Web page work
  • Learning Final Cut Express and Keynote
  • Updated all the Macs in the studio to OSX

What do you have planned for next month?

  • Hold Cyber Café on how to incorporate the TV Studio.
  • Assist teachers in “cleaning up” their Desktops before the end of the year.
  • Get ready for the Tech Fair
  • Plan, film and edit the iMovie Tom wants for the Tech Fair
  • Teach Dreamweaver to the DV club in pairs
  • Teach Final Cut Express to a few DV club members
  • Teach keynote (I’m not that impressed) to the DV club
  • Start a job description list for the jobs in the studio….if I can get the printer to work
  • Get help for our printer

  • Assisted new teachers with laptop use.
  • Instructed a new teacher on how to install networked printers and set printers as default.
  • Took a lot of digital photos.
  • Assisted a new teacher in merging Excel with Word.
  • Helped Computer Education teacher search for sounds and movie clips on line and save to her file.
  • Supported a classroom teacher with a computer simulation activity for her class.
  • Created the school board presentation for Feb. 6th
  • Worked with Craig on the web page

  • Take digital photos of classroom activities for School Board presentation, eighth grade slide show, and school web site.
  • Create iMovies for the state presentation
  • Get the Final Cut Pro info….and try it
What help do you need?
December What did you do this month?
  • Typed instructions for printing from laptops and saving documents to the network. Printed instructions, laminated them, and taped them to the laptops.
  • Instructed a teacher on how to use Excel to track class averages for projects and test.
  • Created specific instructions for teacher use of laptops. (How to sign them out, brief orientation suggestions with their students, student sign-out sheets, etc.) Both email and hard-copy to every teacher.
  • Laptop introduction and classroom support for teachers during projects.
  • Learned and used digital camera.
  • Collaboration with other technology concerned people in the building, including the Principal.
  • Helped teachers with PowerPoint

  • Set up and demonstrated the scanners

  • Support a few new long-term subs in the building with technology in the building.

  • How to stream a live presentation using Quick Time
November What did you do this month?
  • set up Dreamweaver on laptop

  • collaboration with tech aides about computer issues in our building
  • Meeting with principal about computer issues in our building
  • A lot of technology e-mail
  • Problem solving technology problems - network, printing, programs issues, etc.
  • Helping with mobile lab carts - set up, moving, trouble shooting, etc.
  • Technology meeting for our building
  • Working with students to clean out their network folders
  • Instruction of MS Word, Excel, and merging the two
  • Creating imovies for the studio
  • Helped teacher create power point presentations
  • Researched how to get more options in power point
  • Showed teacher how to use the scanner and download into presentations

  • performed problem solving/trouble shooting with individual teachers

  • inventoried the cameras (still and video) for the carts
  • met with teachers about projects
  • put together the T.V. studio

  • taught the kids imovie/video taping
  • met with teachers at other building to get info about the mobile carts
  • created 2 commercials that were used at the T.V. studio
  • created sports clips for the studio
  • started tutorials on dreamweaver (thanks for the sites)

  • continue to work on projects with the mobile labs
  • have my classes take the engauge survey
  • develop instruction sheets for the mobile carts
  • continue to up-date the web page
  • continue to work on tutorials for dreamweaver
  • involve the students more in the production process for commercials for the studio
