  • What decision was reached concerning Web Coordinator (supplemental contracts)? Will building web coordinators work on the pages over the summer? If so, when? How many hours?

    • Demonstrated examples of integrating technology in Math and Social Studies
    • Created an iMovie that showcased how technology is used in our school.
    • Provided “just in time” technical support during the fair.
  • Pat attended DITC and presented a session on Integrating Technology in Science and Math.
  • Worked with Kelly Dempsey on the state report on technology.

What did you do this month?

  • Conducted two Cyber Cafés on Using Images in MS Word and iMovie.
    • (Held AM and PM sessions on 2/13 and 2/27)
  • Continued “Tech Talk” section of the weekly staff newsletter, sharing Internet resources, technical information, and information on Cyber Cafés and March Workshop.
  • Developed and promoted a workshop on Integrating Technology on March 6th. This workshop will help teachers use the Internet, MS Word, Inspiration, and Power Point as tools for students in the study of a social studies topic.
  • Developed and implemented a form for teachers to submit stories and photos to be used on the building web page.
  • Provided support to individual teachers with technology questions (using cameras, scanners, and specific software programs)
  • Co-taught with a 3rd grade teacher to help with integration of the mobile lab.
  • Worked with individual teachers to use digital photos (downloading and printing)
  • Helped guidance counselors scan document into OCR text.
  • Assisted principals with the technology pieces of a school board presentation.
  • Continued weekly meetings to share information and set goals.

  • How will information from the parent response to the AUP be recorded? How will it be communicated which students can have pictures and work posted on the web page? (We know that this is being worked on. Please keep us updated on progress.)
  • We need clarification on the procedure for adding links to teacher websites.
    • Is principal approval necessary? (We’re getting mixed messages from the discussion on the list serv)
    • Will the procedure be what was stated in the handout? (The one that Craig distributed after revising from our original draft)
  • Will Rachel’s replacement receive an iBook?

  • Conducted two Cyber Cafés on using Digital Camera, Camcorders and iMovie. (Held an AM and PM session for each café on 1/9 and 1/23)

What help do you need?

  • Technical Support: We don’t have the staffing to have an efficient turn-around time for broken equipment. Districts and corporations half our size have more than one full time technician on site to repair and maintain equipment.
  • Our principals want to use Joyce and Craig more in our building. We would like to assist in facilitating this. We still need a list of the kinds of tasks they could be doing in the schools. What kind of explicit instruction do they need from the ITLTs? (Action Item from 10/16 meeting)

What did you do this month?

  • Developed the initial “FLIP” Book pages (an ongoing reference to keep at the computer to help with desktop management, e-mail, and other basic tasks).
  • Initial presentations at each house faculty meeting:
    • Designated schoolhouses for each:
      • Pat-purple
      • Michelle-orange
      • Rachel-red
      • Debbie-blue
    • Introduced ourselves and the lead teacher program
    • Distributed the initial FLIP Books
  • Worked with principal to coordinate teacher training with Joyce Perry on e-mail during curriculum planning times
  • Met with Technology Aide and Building Principal to develop policy on the maintenance and use of the mobile labs.
  • Worked to install Type to Learn and Timeliner on classroom computers.
  • Provided technical assistance with the Engage survey, Bloodbourne Pathogens, and Sexual Harassment tests on the 10/25 In-Service day.
  • Began a “Tech Talk” section of the weekly school staff newsletter, sharing websites and technical information.
  • Established a weekly meeting day/time for sharing information and setting goals.
