What did you do this month?

  • Took a full day and developed webpages for our classes
  • Each teacher has curriculum links on the webpages that relate to subjects and units taught
  • Held two Cyber Cafes
    • E-mail and address book
    • Digital cameras
  • Spent several afternoons working on iMovie and digital video camera
  • Attended the DITC conference on April 10th
  • Participated in district-wide Technology Fair

What did you do this month?

  • Pat planned digital camera workshop. It will be held Feb 5. Kathy and Rachel will facilitate
  • Tried to load printer software several times. Attempt has been unsuccessful.
  • trouble shooting with individual teachers on laptop labs, personal computers, and new server
  • set up scanner in a classroom
  • worked on the Read naturally program
  • developed several curriculum related hyperlink pages
  • worked on the imovie tutorial and imovies
  • learned how to burn a CD
  • researched and ordered Dreamweaver for the interested teachers
  • spent time working through the Dreamweaver tutorial
  • helped 5th grade teachers save DARE presentations for the projector on a ZIP drive
  • reconfigured all the laptops for the new PLE server
  • faculty meeting Cyber Café on Teacher Websites and developing Hyperlink papers
  • set up airports in strategic placements and test for access in various locations on each floor

  • hold digital camera workshop

  • see if a student access and pin number can be developed so students can save and retrieve on the server (the guest function does not work)
  • Continue work developing web pages for our classrooms
  • Begin meeting once a week for a Tech talk. Some topics for investigation include: Edvision, mylearningplan.com, apple.com, other teacher resources available on the internet

  • need help loading the printer software so that the printers can work on the laptops. Should we be doing this or should Wanda/Christine/? be doing this?

What did you do this month?

  • planned lessons for upcoming Cyber Cafes
  • held three Cyber Cafe Meetings covering the topics of organizing your computer, saving files on the server, and good curriculum and teacher resources for the internet
  • trouble shooting with individual teachers on laptop labs, personal computers and the projector
  • helped teachers find and use the Teacher Testing Support Websites before the testing on 11/15
  • monitored the new ilab use and sign up sheets
  • made and posted rules and guidelines for the ilabs
  • labeled the 2nd ilab cart and materials

What do you have planned for next month?

  • schedule a 1/2 day to work with Joyce on digital cameras, videos, and imovie
  • schedule a 1/2 day to work with Craig on developing classroom websites
  • offer 1 or 2 Cyber Cafe topics
  • label and library the ilab video cameras, cameras, and projectors
  • set up airports in strategic placements and test for access in various locations on each floor

What help do you need?

  • the labs are now in the school and set up - thank you!
  • the printer software needs to be downloaded so that the printers can work on the labs - we know that you're working on it, thanks!
  • time with Joyce and Craig to develop our skills - time has been scheduled, thanks!
  • ability to schedule full day release time every other week, rather than 1/2 days every week, to work on projects that require intense time commitments. Thanks Olivia for approving!

As a team during half day release:

  • Met with principal to discuss ideas and goals
  • Created an e-mail group list to communicate with our staff
  • Sent first e-mail from Lead Teacher Team to staff about free technology journal
  • Problem-Solved E-mail questions on iMac
  • Set up directions for Netscape Communicator profile for E-mail
  • Created a folder on the server for Lead Teacher Information so that staff can access forms and information
  • Created a survey to determine the interests of the staff for Cyber Café

  • Hand out Cyber Café survey and evaluate results to set goals for teaching
  • Meet as a team to brainstorm and solve iMac problems
  • Begin to use portable labs and set up rules and guidelines
  • Come up with beginning lessons for teachers to use with the labs so that management is consistent
  • Setup and begin to use new laptops
  • Use digital camera during class field trip and teach third grade teachers how to use digital camera
