Training Opportunities

Throughout the year, there will be many training opportunities for groups and individuals. These are a few that are currently available.

  • Two Day Technology and Curriculum Integration Workshop from Apple
    September 26 and 27, 2001
    Available to 16 teachers who must attend both full day sessions. All lead teachers will be able to participate in this workshop and then other SAS teachers from grades 3-5 in the district will be offered the remaining openings. The Technology and Curriculum Integration Workshop focuses how to integrate Microsoft Office and the Internet to create dynamic, student-centered learning experiences. Participants learn to leverage the power of word processing, spreadsheets and databases to support student learning and foster higher-order thinking.

  • Apple Learning Professional Development Online Courses
    Up to 25 teachers in the district will be given a license to use the Apple Learning Professional Development Online Courses.   • Distance Learning Classes from Big Chalk - For Elementary Lead Teachers only
    Licenses for 20 teachers from each elementary school to access bigchalk Critical Issues.
    Bigchalk Critical Issues delivers focused online courses that address the issues impacting schools today. Critical Issues modules integrate powerful learning tools for in-service training, new teacher training, and continuing education.

    • Safe Use of the Internet (Grade Level Focus: K-12)
    • Building Safe Learning Environments (Grade Level Focus: 9-12)
