of the April Tech Fair - This was an extremely successful event. The
kids did a number of outstanding presentations and the public response
was extremely positive.
- Craig
reported on ParentConnect,
a service that allows parents to access information about their own
child under password protection. Although the system has a lot of promise
reaction was that much of this (except for secure student records) could
be accomplished through the free schoolnotes.com
This system would be tied in with the other district data.
- Pat showed
a sample of FlexWindows, a free service that allows you to update a
webpage by sending email. You can try an example at http://www.udel.edu/sine/test/flextest.html
- Craig
reported on distance education opportunities, including Learn4Ever
from the Chester County IU and Partners
in Distance Learning.
- Olivia
led a discussion of the ITLT project for next year. It does not seem
that the budget will be cut as severely in technology as once seemed
likely, however there are still uncertainties. There will be an ITLT
program next year in some form and discussions still need to be addressed
to figure how best to utilize everyone's talents. Every ITLT would like
to continue in the program next year. There was some discussion how
to best use everyone's talents given the new positions some would be
taking and the end of the SAS grant. This converstation will be continued.
- There
was some discussion of new hardware needs for next year. One thing that
was mentioned was that it is important to add more Airports as the mobile
carts are very mobile!
The next
and final meeting of the year will be June 5 at 3:45pm
