Technology Lead Teachers Meeting Minutes. 3:45 – 5:30 pm
Attendance: all ITLTs except as noted, Pat Sine, Olivia Spencer, Craig
Miller, Joyce Perry
Absent - Leanne Hubbartt, Kathy Sherman, Jerry Rabinowitz
- Discussed strategies for teachers to share information including the
use of listservs and webpages.
- Discussed issues regarding use of he iLabs
- Report from MT about using iLab
- Aha effect and problem-solving
- Pat McKeon discussed how the iBooks are used at PLE in lounge
- Partnering students in class helps familiarity. Also discussed
partnering across grades for older students to help younger students.
- Discussion - glitches and problems getting information from the
iBooks printed or saved to network. It helps if students get same
computer each time.
- Talked about how different buildings check out equipment. Debbie
Parker shared information about the lending of iBooks thru barcode
at the library at Avon Grove Elementary School.

lead teachers in the district The group viewed the SAS
web page from Joyce Perry that will be posted on the Avon Grove
School District web page soon.
- Joyce Perry showed Inspiration lesson plan book that we purchased
that is allowed be copied for the district. Distributed a copy of Inspiration
lesson plan book to the ITLTs from each building for them to disseminate.
- KES questioned - how will supplies, such as, printer cartrideges,
batteries, videocassettes, etc. for the iLabs be funded? Dr. Spencer
reported that the grants could absorb some of those costs this year
and requests should be funneled through Joyce and Craig. Leigh Anna
agreed to draft a budget of what would be required for the school year.
- Needs assessment for technology and what is being done in each school
was reviewed and presented. Kemblesville is using the Profiler survey
based on the Computer Skills Growth Chart. Looked at Profiler for KES
and how you can view the results. Pat suggested that the results be
viewed as a vehicle for school-wide planning.
- Joyce Perry presented EnGauge model and explained its use for the
Avon Grove School District. Teachers expressed interest in having the
group breakdown by schools for the survey be based on where they will
be assigned for the 2002-2003 school year when the new elementary schools
is opened. Joyce will be pursuing with EnGauge how this can be accomodated.
- Talked about Lead teachers helping with administration of school wide
PDE testing requirement on November 15. It will take more than a half
hour to take test. Introduction to how this data will be used
- Discussion of how to get credit for Cyber Café. Dr. Spencer
spoke about guidelines for approval. District will fund 1 workshop per
school with stipends for participants between now and the end of the
2nd marking period. Workshops must be at least 1 hour in length. Lead
teachers must get prior approval and participants will submit their
request for Act 48 credit and stipends via mylearning.com Karen Norris
will do a form.
- Pat Sine distributed a form on Goal-setting which could be used at
school planning meetings after Engauge survey.
Next meeting December 12, 2001 will be
a joint meeting with SAS Project Team.
