3nd Technology Lead Teachers Meeting Minutes.  3:45 – 5:30 pm

Attendance: all ITLTs, Pat Sine, Olivia Spencer, Craig Miller, Joyce Perry

  1. Next month all monthly reports should be sent in as school reports, rather than the reports of individuals.

  2. Discussed ways to share websites with others in the school
    • Looked at web space on servers
    • Looked at Michelle's class web page
    • Talked about teacher space on the district server. Technically, it is possible to access folders on the network and have them server as web space. Smyrna school district in Delaware is doing this and could be contacted.
    • Discussion about teachers' web space and potential problems. A district committee is now meeting to formulate a web publishing policy that will preserve security but allow the web to serve teachers' and schools' needs for communication. Input from ITLTs is welcome. The policy will go to CAC and then to the board for approval. The policy must be in compliance with CIPA and should cover what teachers can publish, such as student pictures and student work. Christina School District's policy has just been completed.

  3. Discussed creation of building mailing lists versus address books.
    • PLE has held their first 2 Cyber Cafés covering using the server, creating alias for desktop, with handouts
    • Made file on server that is open that will be available in the server folder
