  1. Tech Fair report -- Craig
    • Good attendance. Probably the best fair and the best attendance yet. Good representations from all buildings. All but 2 board members attended.
    • Improvements for next year
      • Images from schools on projectors on entry or on screens around wall.
      • Spread out to entry hallways


  2. Streaming Video -- Pat McKeown/Craig
    • Digital Curriculum
    • United Streaming
    • Atomic Learning -- how to videos for computer applications
    • Pat McKeon discussed getting a 30-day password to United Streaming. It is also possible to get trial passwords to the other 2.
    • United Streaming has the best search mechanism allowing you to search on the standards.
    • CCIU has licensed some of the Digital Streaming content. Charleen has sent a note to the list describing how to subscribe.
    • CCIU has other video clips available as well. These can be accessed by going to the main CCIU page.


  3. Highlights and questions from monthly reports

      • PLE and AGIS pointed out problems with utilizing the laptops in the classrooms: batteries tend to run down too quickly -- Eric has set up stations where the laptops can be run from power. However, this means taking the power packs out of the carts.
      • PLE
        • roll out of mobile labs

      • AGIS
        • DreamWeaver is not user-friendly
        • Battery issues -- teachers avoid using the laptops for fear of dead batteries
        • Can the lab be used for classes?
        • Scheduling issues for laptop carts

        • Battery Issue -- order 2 plugs for each laptop, replace batteries in most laptops. All should remember to include this request for the next budget meeting.
        • Craig and Joyce will continue to explore how to schedule lab and protect for staff use.

      • FEMS
        • FEMS is hosting PowerPoint "how-to" sessions for teachers starting with a short demo but also having teachers create their own materials.
      • AGHS
        • Taken care of: Need new laser printer for Lab 301
