    1. Update on the Avon Grove AUP
      • After extensive discussion about the releases signed by parents for students' work and pictures on the web, there were two primary questions:

        Two Questions:
What do we do about group shots?
What do we do about students we don’t know?

      • NOTE: Following the meeting, Olivia, Joyce and Pat talked about this. Olivia stated that for group shots, such as an auditorium or a stadium, it's okay if students without permission are caught inadvertently in the shot. As for the web masters adding pix to the site including students they don't know, the responsibility is on the provider of the photo to make sure that all included have the right permission. You can include the person who gave you a photo in the comments within the site.
    2. How to retrieve AG e-mail from home
      • "mailhost.avongrove.org/exchange/username" works and should work for everyone using Netscape and IE. The only difference is that when you are using Netscape, you enter your username as "agsd/username". In IE, you enter your username, and it prompts for a domain. The domain is "agsd".
      • agsd-mail.avongrove.org/exchange was discussed as an alternative, but this did not work at the meeting.

    3. Projector Grant details -- Craig
      • Lightware is giving away 3 projectors per quarter to schools that submit proposals for their use in the classroom. The complete details and the submission form can be found at http://www.lightware.com/site/spotlight.html

    4. Teacher Web Pages -- Craig
      • Craig said the process is ready but needs troubleshooting before he is ready to make up directions. Mary King and Pat McKeown agreed to work on their own pages under Craig's direction to get this going.

    5. PETC update -- Feb 10 and 11
      • Joyce is presenting "An Online Tool for the Evaluation of Technology in a School District" This presentation focuses on the enGauge Framework an online assessment developed by NCREL and the results of the Avon Grove SD study. This tool provides a comprehensive assessment system that surveys a wide range of stakeholders and can contribute to strategic planning and the needs assessment for e-tech planner.
      • Karen is presenting "Student TV Studio/Service Club" This student led display will focus on a TV broadcasting service club which fosters citizenship and telecommunication skills. By showing clips from school events students will describe how they have benefited from their involvement in this real world application of educational technology.
      • Olivia is presenting "The IT Lead Teacher Program" at Avon Grove -- The IT Lead Teacher program provides individualized ongoing staff development. Selected classroom teachers use release time and stipends to co teach coach and train other teachers as well as to identify additional staff development needs. IT Lead Teachers and their facilitator form a district wide resource to support staff development for technology integration.

    6. Tech Support and the Strategic Plan -- Joyce
      • Joyce pointed out that as part of the Strategic Planning activities, a technology action plan is in the works. This can be viewed online. It includes significant improvements to technical support including moving to make the tech aides full-time positions. Craig also is looking for software to automate the help desk functions.
